The course goals include: 1. Continuing to introduce origins of medical language. 2. Teaching higher level structure of medical terms. 3. Dispelling misbeliefs that all medical terms must be memorized. 4. Showing how to readily recognize and interpret medical terms. 5. Reviewing and rehearsing word parts used in medical terms. 6. Improving linguistic skills 7. Communicating confidently, accurately, and efficiently with health care professionals, patients, and others.

修課心得
One of the most impactful lessons was dispelling the misbelief that all medical terms must be memorized. Instead of rote learning, the course taught us the higher-level structure of medical terms. By understanding the logic of prefixes, roots, and suffixes, I can now readily recognize and interpret complex words I have never seen before. For instance, instead of memorizing "arteriosclerosis," I simply break it down into its structural components to understand "hardening of the arteries."
